Welcome
This is my website for my web design class. Below is my portfolio that contains all of my projects.
I am a Web III student in Mrs. Bratcher's class, I am a junior at Floyd Central High School.
I run cross country, track, and play piano.
Writing Assignment
The point of this project was to interview web designers then write a report about my findings. I created a Google Form with the questions I wanted to ask, then sent it to five web designers. Three of them responded. Click on the image or the botton to visit my blog and read my report.
Logo Design
In this project, I described the steps of designing a logo and designed my own logo. You can view this project on my blog linked below.
Pseudo Elements
For this project, I created a page that demonstrates five pseudo elements, and a screencast that describes how to do the selector pseudo element. Click the link on the page to visit my blog and watch the screencast. Click the image or the button to view my pseudo elements page.
Favicon
In this project I made a blog post that explains what favicons are and how you can put one on your website.
CSS3
For this project I used style sheets to show examples of many different CSS3 features such as rounded borders, box and text shadows, gradient backgrounds, 2D and 3D transformations, transitions, animations, multiple columns, and more.
Newspaper Layout
In this project, I used the skills I learned in the CSS3 project to create a newspaper layout. I used transitions, fonts, shadow effects, and more.
Positioning
In this project, I practiced positioning. I reviewed how to position elements absolutely, relatively, fixed, and statically. Each method of postioning has examples.
Scrapbook
This project is a scrapbook I made from the techniques I learned from the poitioning project. I used only absolute positioning for this project. I created a cover, four scrapbook pages, and a navigation bar on the side so viewers can go from page-to-page.
CSS3 Graphs
On this project, created three graphs using lists and styled them using CSS3. The graphs show salaries of different web design jobs and how experience and location effects the salary.
Typography
This is part of my typography project. It is a page where I demonstrate fonts that go together on a page. If you click the link to my blog at the bottom of the page, there is an explanation of why I chose each font.
Drag and Drop
If you click on the picture or button, it will take you to a page with a checker board. You can drag and drop the pieces with your mouse. The goal of the project was to make a gameboard using HTML 5 drag and drop.
Photoshop Fun
I experimented with different Photoshop tools throughout this project. I found an online tutorial over a technique then tried to do it myself. Below I linked my blog post that shows my results and a critique of the tutorial.
Bootstrap 4 Grid Tutorial
